Frequently Asked Questions

I have been injured by someone in an accident. Do I need an attorney?

If you have been injured in an accident and have suffered personal injuries, the insurance company may, in fact, contact you soon after the occurrence. They may even try to get you to settle your claim for far less than it is worth for the medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and loss of enjoyment of life you have sustained as a result of the accident.

We will do everything possible to preserve your claim by conducting a thorough investigation, including obtaining photographs of the damaged vehicles, your injuries, and the accident scene as well as obtaining statements from eyewitnesses to ensure that you have everything necessary to successfully make your claim. How much will it cost to hire Adelman Injury Law and to prosecute my claim?

Jeff Adelman works strictly on a contingency fee basis. That means that you will pay the firm nothing unless we are successful in containing a settlement or damage award for you. You will never be asked to pay any money out of your pocket for the prosecution of your claim. We will front all of the expenses necessary to pursue your claim. We do this to make sure that you obtain the highest settlement or verdict result possible. Contact Adelman Injury Law today for your free consultation.

How much money is my case worth?

Without reviewing your medical history and medical treatment for your accident, it is unfair to give an evaluation of your case. You need to treat with a qualified physician and do your best to try to recover from your injuries as much as possible. Depending on the amount of insurance coverage that is available through your own policy as well as the negligent party, a case can take as little as a couple of weeks or as long as a couple of years. It depends on a number of factors, including whether you have lost wage claims in the past and future, the type of injuries you’ve sustained, future medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, and pain and suffering. You have the power to determine whether or not you wish to settle your case.

If the insurance company does not offer you a fair settlement amount, we will place the case in litigation and have a jury decide what amount you are entitled to. We will aggressively and compassionately represent you to ensure that you receive the justice you deserve under the law. Contact Adelman Injury Law today for your free consultation.

Will I have to go to court?

The majority of claims do settle out of court, even if a lawsuit needs to be filed on your behalf. However, insurance companies are not always fair with their evaluations of your claim, and if there is an argument with regards to who is responsible for causing the accident, or if the insurance company argues that the injuries were pre-existing, cases can go to trial. If your case does go to trial, rest assured that we will be in your corner and fight for your rights. Contact Adelman Injury Law today for your free consultation.

How long do I have to file a claim?

In most personal injury claims, the Florida law allows you four (4) years from the date of the accident to file a lawsuit for your claim. But there are certain types of injury claims that are less than four (4) years, such as Medical Malpractice. If you were injured in an accident, whether it is a motor vehicle accident, slip, and fall, or other types of injury claim, you need to be aware that the Statute of Limitations is ticking on your claim. If your case has not been filed as a lawsuit, and you are approaching the Statute of Limitations deadline, you are in danger of waiving all rights to recovery for the personal injuries you have suffered as a result of another person’s negligence. We will make sure that you are not in danger of having your personal injury case barred as a result of a Statute of Limitations issue. Contact Adelman Injury Law today for your free consultation.
